Episode 26 brings you into the world of Denver’s biggest annual film event, The Starz Denver Film Fest, through the eyes of the Denver Film Society’s programmer, Matthew Campbell. Far different from a computer programmer, Matt sinks months of his life into reviewing submissions, inviting speakers, and crafting unforgettable experiences for attendees of the festival.

The Starz Film Festival is in its 37th year and features over 250 films from 40+ countries. In recognition of the region’s growing talent pool, this year includes a ramped up focus on Colorado filmmakers. Screenings, panel discussions, and parties began last weekend and continue until November 23rd. Single ticket prices are as low as $8, so visit denverfilm.org/festival to find the perfect fit for you (Hint: There are no wrong choices… so try something new!)

Also on this episode: listen to the latest release from Greater Than Collective (Illegal Pete’s record label). It’s the song Let Your Heart Break from Denver locals, Ark Life.

The Forum Stories is produced and edited by Sam Pike and couldn’t exist without our friends at Illegal Pete’s and Ligature Creative. If you’ve never checked out how these two companies support Colorado creatives, do yourself a favor and click their links. I especially recommend Ligature’s work on how the arts impact our local economy. It’s gorgeous.
